New school regs trigger price increase

A 20-cent price increase has been recommended to combat costs.

April 23—Prices at Owen J. Roberts School District, in Pottstown, Pa., may rise by as much as 20 cents more per lunch next year.

The cost increase is in response to the new school meal regulations, which will take effect next year. Lunch prices would rise from $2.65 to $2.85 and $2.40 to $2.60. In the middle school, the increase would be five cents per lunch, bringing the price to $2.70. District breakfast prices would also be raised by 10 cents, to $1.30, while adult lunches would go up 30 cents to $3.60.
