Michigan-based Traverse City Area Public Schools is piloting a new way to offer healthy food options outside of lunchtimes: vending machines.
Two machines have been installed at Central High School, traverseticker.com reports; offerings include sandwiches, salads, yogurt, and fruit and granola bars.
If the program is a success, according to officials, it could be expanded to other schools in the district.
