Levy named a leading employer for diversity

Chicago-based foodservice vendor Levy was recently spotlighted as a top employer when it comes to diverse workplaces, nabbing the No. 3 spot on Forbes’ recent “Best Employers for Diversity” list.

Contributing to Levy’s high ranking were its placement of women in leadership roles (four of its eight top executives are female) and ethnic diversity among management, Forbes noted.

"It's an honor any time you are recognized by a publication as renowned as Forbes and included among such admired and forward-thinking companies, but we are especially proud to be recognized for our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive company," Andy Lansing, Levy CEO, said in a statement. "Creating and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace is absolutely essential in making Levy a terrific place to build a career."

Other companies on the list, which Forbes compiled with help from research company Statista, include Starbucks, PepsiCo, Whole Foods Market, Harvard University and Wegmans Food Markets.
