Marilyn Volden has been named the new nutrition specialist for Wisconsin’s La Crosse School District, reports the lacrossetribune.com.
Volden had served as a nutrition director for more than 17 years and retired as foodservice director from nearby Viroqua Area Schools at the end of December.
“My experience with developing farm to school programming has been the most positive experience of my career,” Volden told the website. “Bringing food education to students and working with local chefs to inspire and train kitchen staff has improved the nutrition value and quality of our local school meals.”
