Idaho district finds no savings in contracting foodservice

Rejects proposal to outsource foodserivce, approves outsourcing custodial services.

May 6—Following a decision to outsource custodial services, the Nampa (Idaho_ School District announced Friday afternoon that it will not outsource nutrition services to combat its multimillion projected budget shortfall for the 2013-14 school year.

“The district administration and the Financial Recommendation Committee reviewed the information and found no direct savings to the district’s general fund,” Superintendent Tom Michaelson said of the decision, “so we will be recommending the board reject the nutrition services proposals.
