Hospitals taken to task over fast food

Nonprofit organization writes letters to hospitals urging removal of McDonald's.

April 11—Some of the nation's largest hospitals recieved letters from nonprofit consumer group Corporate Accountability International urging them to get rid of McDonald's locations in their facilities.

The letters were sent to Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Jackson Memorial in Miami and 19 others around the country. About 2,000 doctors, nurses and medical professionals have signed onto the group's campaign to oppose McDonald's advertising targeting children, including eateries in hospitals.
