High school students help in hunt for healthful drinks

In an effort to serve its students healthy drinks—and compete with a local Starbucks—Alamance High School recently had their students taste-test decaffeinated ice tea and decaffeinated mocha latte beverages, according to thetimesnews.com.

According to school officials, they’re looking to add new beverage options but it can be difficult with both finding something students like, while meeting the federal nutrition standards.

“Instead of us choosing the product, let the students try the product,” Pam Bailey, supervisor of ABSS’ Child Nutrition program, told the website.
