Health inspection scores listed for hospital cafeterias, food courts

SAN ANTONIO — A Behind the Kitchen Door investigation has revealed that food services at San Antonio's nine largest hospitals all passed their most recent health inspections.

Four even received perfect scores. Five others had a small number of violations.

KSAT requested the most recent health inspections for each hospital from Metro Health. Here is what those reports show.

Perfect scores were given to:

  • Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills
  • Metropolitan Methodist
  • Northeast Baptist
  • Methodist Hospital

Three demerits were given to:

  • Christus Santa Rosa Downtown (the inspector found food debris in a slicer)
  • St. Luke's Baptist (a food mixer needed to be cleaned)

Four demerits were given to:

  • North Central Baptist (food labeled improperly; there was an issue with their dishwasher)
  • Southwest General (the inspector saw an employee drinking out of a cup with no lid)

Seven demerits were given to:

  • University Hospital (water at hand-washing sinks wasn't hot enough; rodent droppings were found in the main kitchen area)
