Former employee who called in cafeteria threat arraigned

EAST LANSING, Mich. — A woman who made a threatening call to "Mason-Abbot hall" staff on February 13, causing a secure-in-place at the The Gallery at Snyder and Phillips halls, turned herself in March 13 and has since been arraigned, according to a MSU police statement.

Joyce Annell Keyes, who is an East Lansing resident and former MSU employee, is charged with malicious use of telecommunications services — a misdemeanor.

During the secure-in-place, social media platforms such as Twitter and Yik Yak were filled with rumors about a shooter in Mason-Abott and Snyder-Phillips.
