Nov. 1—Jim Webb, the founder of Tustin, Calif.-based Webb Design, has passed away after a bout with cancer, according to his company. He was 58.
Webb founded his company in 1989. Webb Design is a foodservice design consultancy specializing in facility design for schools, colleges, healthcare, B&I, hotels, resorts and restaurants. Managing Principal Gina Brinegar, who will take over management of the firm, called Webb a man of vision.
“Jim Webb was a remarkable man and an extraordinary leader, who guided our firm’s impressive success for more than two decades,” said Brinegar. “He leaves an indelible legacy and will be missed by the entire Webb Design family.”
Early in his career Jim Webb was named a “Young Lion” by the Foodservice Consultants Society International as a promising professional under the age of 30. According to Brinegar, this recognition helped influence Jim’s growing passion for innovative environmental design, and he would continue to promote the many economic benefits of environmental design through the rest of his career. Webb design is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and many of its staff have achieved LEED accreditation.
