April 16—Fla. hospitals Halifax Health and Florida Hospital have been working change the public's perception of hospital food as boring, uninspired and/or unappetizing.
Shawn Noseworthy, director of food and nutrition at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, said there's been a concerted movement to shed the food department's institutional flavor. At her hospital, the word cafeteria has been vanquished, she said. Instead, the dining area is called the Cornerstone Cafe.
