Third-grade students at Lawrence Public Schools in Lawrence, Kan., are participating in cooking classes this semester, the Lawrence Journal-World reports.
The classes are part of the district's Farm 2 School program and are funded through a grant from the state’s education department.
While only two schools have participated in the cooking classes so far, the district plans to expand the program to all of its 900 third-graders this spring.
