Cornell becomes first ivy to become certified for sustainable seafood

Marine Stewardship Council certification allows Cornell to serve sustainable seafood.

July 16—Cornell University announced Friday has become the first Ivy League university to become MSC certified, meaning Cornell’s on-campus food service operation can serve certified sustainable seafood to its students, faculty, staff, and guests.

The MSC certification is an important element of Cornell’s leadership in the area of sustainability and responsible sourcing for Cornell Dining’s 32 food service locations that serve more than 27,000 customers per day.
