Colorado university to transition to self-operated foodservices

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs will end its contract with Sodexo in May and is set to expand employment and eateries.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—As the university ends its contract with Sodexo in May and transitions to a self-operated food service, employment and current eateries are set to expand.

Mark Hayes, director of the newly-established Dining and Food Services department, indicated major changes will occur over the next couple of years.

“There is the conversion (to self-operation) in 2014, then Roaring Fork (a new dining facility) comes online in 2015, then The Lodge (current dining facility) will be renovated in 2016,” said Hayes. “The whole campus is committed to making this a success, and university resources are aligned.”
