College’s wood-fired oven fuels student careers

Kennebec Valley College’s new wood-fired oven is serving more than one purpose for its culinary students, according to The Portland Press Herald.

Not only will students cook with the trendy, new device, but they will also develop skill sets valuable to foodservice work, according to officials.

“[Giving] these students experiences in what food tastes like from a wood-fired oven and allowing them to cook using the oven, will hopefully help them build their careers,” Katherine Creswell, KVC’s farm manager told The Herald.
