Chicago Cubs to serve Hot Doug’s, Portillo’s at spring training

The Chicago Cubs are bringing two local food favorites to Sloan Park, the Arizona-based baseball field where their spring training is held, Chicago Eater has learned.

Cubs fans will be able to order one of two hot dog selections from Hot Doug’s—whose Wrigley Field set up was copied at the training field—and Italian beef from Portillo’s during the team’s 15-game exhibition schedule at the park.

Sausage flavors will rotate every five games, officials say.

“We continue to push the envelope to allow people who live down here from Chicago to experience a taste of Chicago,” Jay Satenspiel—regional VP for Spectra Venue Management and Food Services & Hospitality, the firm that handles food at Sloan Park—told the website.
