April 11—Chartwells is shutting down its dining service operation at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus.
The shutdown will affect approximately 270 employees, including 184 part-time student jobs. The university decided not to renew its contract. The Department of Workforce Development says they will provide assistance to the employees who are laid off.
The closing will occur beginning June 15.
