Feb. 15—Dining services at Boston University, which is managed by Aramark, has announced that beginning in September 2012 the department will only serve cage-free eggs in its dining facilities.
The decision was made in conjunction with the BU Vegetarian Society and the BU Student Union, according to a university press release. The department currently offers cage-free eggs in each residential dining hall where shell eggs are served. Starting in September all eggs served—liquid and shell—and those used in all recipes will be from cage-free sources.
