OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. — Foodservice contractor Aramark is considering the adoption of Apple’s iPhone payment system as a way for stadium customers buying food and beverages at their seats to pay for the purchase, president and CEO Eric Foss told financial analysts.
The deployment would be funded in part by savings from several recent efforts to cut general and administrative costs for the company, he explained.
Foss indicated that some Aramark accounts are already using Apple’s Apple Pay system.
He also revealed that a new labor scheduling tool has cut hourly payroll costs at the North American facilities where it’s been adopted by at least 2 percent, and that the company will continue to standardize menus and improve its sourcing process.
