We used to dispose of our excess patient food by putting it into the garbage disposal. After discussing the negative environmental impact of this, we began throwing it in the trash instead, but this seemed like such a waste. As luck would have it, a local pig farmer is able to come pick up our excess food and after processing it, he feeds it to his pigs.
