At Florida Blue, our mission is “Helping People and Communities Achieve Better Health.” To help in achieving this mission, we provide several different healthy cooking classes throughout the year for our employees and throughout the community. In all of these, we take traditional dishes and show how you can remake them into a healthy version, all without sacrificing flavor. This has been done for Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Asian American Awareness Month, as well as seasonal cuisines like holiday menus and barbecue. Our biggest success was teaching kids how to make a chocolate milkshake that was completely fat free by using frozen yogurt, frozen bananas, malted milk powder and chocolate syrup. Amazing!
