Last year, several of the fraternity and sorority houses expressed interest in composting. So we developed a pilot program to pick up compostable material at two of the houses once a week. If its successful we hope to add pick-up for all 21 university owned houses to the program. We could reach five to 10 tons of pre- and post-consumer food waste per month that we didn’t capture before.
