Employee cook-offs

Getting our employees to be engaged in their work is a big focus at Carilion. Our department has decided to have mini cook-offs to add new recipes to our catering menu. For example, we had a chili cook-off. Each employee in catering made his/her own chili and wrote a recipe for it. We had the employees go out into our café and offer samples of their chili to the guests. The guests voted on their favorite, and the winner received a new knife and their chili recipe went on our menu. They loved it! We plan to do more in the future.
