The roundup also gave a nod to Compass’ work with the Global Animal Partnership and moves to increase its number of vegetarian-friendly menu items.
Compass has seen a number of changes in recent years as it sought to streamline operations, boost local sourcing and partner with big-name chefs. Its longtime CEO, Richard Cousins, died in a plane crash less than two months ago and was succeeded by COO Dominic Blakemore.
Other foodservice operations mentioned in Fast Company’s list include restaurant concepts Cava, &pizza, Punch Bowl Social and Amy’s Kitchen.
