Goldies 2013: UNC Health Care, Chapel Hill, N.C.

UNC Health Care's innovative Restaurant Delivery program earned it a Goldie for Hospitals.

When UNC Health Care's Angelo Mojica and his team wanted to create a patient room service program without incraesing labor, they turned to what they already did well: retail foodservice. They built their program using menus from their 20 retail concepts, and patient satisfaction scores have soared.

UNC's pizza concept is an homage to Mojica's birthplace, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Even something as simple as shrimp and grits can look elegant to a patient if presented properly.

Patients can even order sushi, from UNC's Red Ginger concept.
